Welcome to the Earth Modular Society Monthular challenge. This is a monthly optional patch prompt to inspire your creative process. EMS Monthular is a theme to inspire your patches, and this month we explore delay (delay delay delay….). A delay is a time effect that repeats a signal, usually used on audio. If the time of the delay is large, you get in to looper territory. If the time of the delay is shorter, you end up with reverb or phaser sounds. But it’s all delay. Another fun use of delay is to send CV or triggers through it instead of audio — we’re modular, so switch it up and use all the things! And while time effects and synths go hand-in-hand (or plug-in-jack), this Monthular theme doesn’t require a “delay” module. You could delay a trigger, or delay starting or stopping some element of your performance. Find something interesting and explore.
